seven walks

I’m going to try this as my basic format:

basic slide format

It’s a bit more cluttered that I had originally hoped for, but I can indicate the room I am talking about without having to make a big deal of it.

By including schematical representation of the furniture within each room I can also do away with a lot of the descriptive stuff and allow more time for analysis.

If audiences are supposed to get distracted by what’s on the slides (as opposed to paying attention to what’s being said) at least it can be to some useful end!

Time is short, so I’m going to crack on and start putting together some slides…

I don’t like the way text is rendered in PowerPoint, so I just create some 1280 x 1024 .jpgs in Photoshop and paste into Powerpoint.

Group the stuff thematically!

  • Location
  • Film
  • Slides
  • Documents
  • Engagement

I now have a title screen, 5 slides (I figure that’s plenty at about a minute each) and a rough idea of how one leads into the next.

Time to pin down exactly what it is I’m going to say.

I have to submit a printout of my visuals anyway, so I’m going to use the notes thingy in PowerPoint.

23:43

After a short quite long LoudMusicBreak I now have all the content mapped out and my slides finished and imported iinto PowerPoint.

From PowerPoint I have exported to Word and I am now tarting up this version to hand in for assessment.

The rest of the evening wil be spent rehearshing the content so I will need to refer to my notes as little as possible.

… or I might just go to bed.
