Tuesday 14th of June

So here it is: a roughly hewn corner of the interweb where I may (or may not) end up documenting my exchange visit with Joshibi University…

I have no idea what’s waiting for me there, only that I will be placed with the Sculpture department for 3 weeks and then I have some time to explore other parts of the country. ‘Spect I’ll find something to do with myself - but at this stage I’m not sure if that involves maintaining a blog!

So, anyway, on the off-chance that I find myself with a) an internet connection and b) anything vaguely resembling coherent thought, I’ve created these pages as a repository.

The set-up is deliberately simple as I anticipate any posts made here will be fairly image-heavy (and I’m terribly, terribly busy dontcha know ;) ) but you may be interested to know that the splodgy bits come courtesy of the potter Shōji Hamada.

My blood runs cold at the idea of an “and then after breakfast we went to visit some temples” type blog, so I’ll try to keep posts relevant to the arty stuff. This is, after all, part of my degree course so it can be an opportunity for some reflexive practice. Or something.

Oh, and it means I’ll have to send less fewer postcards! :)
